Orientation for New Educators
Every new educator receives orientation before opening their day home. Orientation helps educators understand Alberta Family Day Home Standards, agency policies, documentation requirements, daily operations, and expectations for operating a successful family day home program.
Ongoing Professional Development
Learning doesn't stop after orientation. Throughout the year, educators are invited to participate in workshops, meetings, and professional development sessions designed to support continuous learning and improve program quality.
Alberta Standards & Licensing Updates
Childcare regulations continue to evolve. ECC provides guidance on Alberta Family Day Home Standards, policy updates, licensing requirements, and best practices to help educators remain informed and compliant.
Child Development & Play-Based Learning
Training opportunities focus on supporting children's growth through play-based learning, age-appropriate programming, positive guidance, inclusion, and developmentally appropriate practices that encourage children to learn through exploration and everyday experiences.
Health, Safety & Emergency Preparedness
Educators receive ongoing guidance related to health and safety practices, emergency procedures, illness management, medication administration, supervision, and creating safe learning environments for children.
Program Planning & Documentation
Professional development also includes support with program planning, record keeping, required documentation, communication with families, and maintaining organized day home operations.
