Government Grant and Subsidy

Family Day Home Affordability Grant

Families do not need to apply for it. All parents receive this grant automatically as of April 1st, 2026 for children 0-6 who are not yet attending full-time school.

$230 per month

For part-time care, 50-99 hours.

$326.25 per month

For full-time care, 100 hours or more.

Flat monthly fee

The grant is applied automatically for eligible families.

Parent portion of child care fees

The parents' portion of the childcare fees may vary between day homes due to optional fees and services. Your parent portion would be the total childcare fee minus the grant and optional fees.

You will need to pay the parents' portion directly to your program educator before the first day of the month. There are no refunds for absence due to sickness or vacation.

Subsidy for School-Aged Children

The Child Care Subsidy Program ends March 31st, 2025 for children 0-6. School-aged children may still receive a subsidy.

Subsidized parents are responsible in full for their total fee for the first month if ECC does not receive payment from the provincial subsidy program.
